How I started a business from scratch to making money in 30 days for FREE.

WOW!  What a month!  I did the free Thirty Day Challenge to get a home business online and making money.  I’m still reviewing some of the lessons as there was a lot to learn.  The program, by Ed Dale and crew, is created to take anyone, no matter what their computer skills are, from start to making money.  The great thing is that the information will be online until next year’s challenge.  If you didn’t take part in the live version you can still do the Challenge.

I did the Thirty Day Challenge while working.  I would come home, watch the day’s lesson and then do as much as I could that day.  If I got behind or got stuck, I would catch up on weekends.

Here is some of what I learned and will be applying in all my future business endeavors:

  • Market Research.
This is critical for picking the right niche to go into.  This course, and the tools you have access to make market research simple.
  • Domain Names.
What domain names get more attention.
  • Website promotion and tracking.
I know a little about Google Analytics but the SEO stuff was a mystery.  This program made it simple and easy.
  • Blogs.
I was comfortable with Wordpress but hadn’t used Blogger.  Thirty Day Challenge show how to use both promote your business
  • Ezines, Scribd, Squidoo, Hubpages.
I had heard of Ezines and of Squidoo but not of Scribd or Hubpages.  I had never written or setup any of these.  The instructions, as always, were simple.  I found that if I listened to the lesson, the replayed it starting and stopping as I followed the instructions, it made the process really simple.
  • Some of the other web 2.0 items covered were:
    Weebly, Facebook pages, Propeller, Microblogging.
  • PPC, Pay Per Click was covered over 3 days.
Three great days of PPC.  I’ve not done much PPC and this made the process clear.
  • Go or No Go.  This was a very important lesson teaching when and how to decide if a page/product was worth proceeding with.  If it is a no go, what to do with the site you’ve created.

I may soon decide that the site is a “no go” and start over, but I did make a few dollars with it.  If you want to check it out, you can go to www.healthy-mealplans.com and see a very simple site that I created in an evening.

I really can’t emphasize strongly enough how great this program is, and it is FREE!  Even if you already have a business online and are making money, the techniques will help you increase your income. I’m already planning to do next year’s challenge as there are always new things to learn.
