A subscription to an autoresponder service is critical to internet marketing. I’ve just gone through all the mail I have received in the last week to find out what autoresponder service was used. Most used was Aweber followed by InfusionSoft. The people using InfusionSoft were those who do multi-million dollar launches. Awebers starts around $20.00 a month, less if you pay by year and InfusionSoft starts at around $200.00 a month. There are other autoresponder systems available which you can find by doing a search. You can also look at the messages you receive and see what autoresponders are being used.

So what is an autoresponder service:
Autoreponders have a number of features that make it easier to gather, maintain and market to your lists. The sign-up form on the right of my blog was created in Aweber and then copied into my blog. Once someone signs up for your list, you want to keep in touch with them.
Here are some of the features that autoresponder services provide
When you sign-up your information is going directly into my autoresponder lists and it provides a “double optin” so that Aweber sends an email to you to make sure you really want to be on the list. Why do this? It helps prevent spam. We all want to avoid spamming people.

Once you’ve finish downloading the free item, you are then sent to a Thank You page which either gives you more information or sends you back the blog or website, depending on how you configure it.
You can create a series of email messages that your autoresponder will send out. This is completely configurable. You can select how often they get messages, what those messages are, etc. You can get really creative and send specific messages to those who haven’t responded and other messages to those who have responded. This really helps your conversion rate. It is also good to keep in contact with people and share information without always selling to them.

You can have multiple lists in your autoresponder. If you are doing affiliate marketing, you can have a list per item and then you can track what items your list responded to. That way you would know in the future, what to market.
Autoresponder services allow you find out what is working with your list and what isn’t working.

AWeber is good for a new marketer but if the plan is to grow then I highly recommend people plug in to the entrepreneurial spirit and surroundings offered by Infusionsoft. I’ve met more entrepreneurs and self-made info-marketing and “brick and mortar” millionaires since I started using Infusionsoft in October 2008 than in any other time in my life. And it’s knowing and following successful people that will help you achieve more.

Your recommendation of using InfusionSoft is fine for those who are already making money and can afford the cost. For many people getting started, the cost is prohibitive. That is why I have recommended Aweber.
I’ve recently been hearing very good things about another Autoresponder company, Get Response. It is similar in pricing to Aweber and works a little faster. I’ve not tried it so I can’t really recommend it yet.
