Great Product for Adding Video to Your Site

I’m trying out this new product for adding videos to websites and blogs. If you are interested, check it oout and let know what your experiences are. I will post my experiences are as well.

If you are adding videos, don’t forget to make sure that anyone can watch them. What does that mean? It means that all those millions of people with iPhones and iPads can’t watch Flash videos. I’m making sure that anyone who comes to my site can watch the videos.

I just setup the WPTouch plugin. I creates a theme that makes the blog readable on iPhones and iPads. Since I don’t yet have either, I would love to hear from anyone who does. Is the blog easier to read now that the plugin is installed? My goal is to make the blog easy for anyone to read.

I was in the Apple store yesterday as I had an appointment at the genius bar. Since I got there early, I was able to spend some time checking out the iPad. I browsed the web, checked out the email functions and their book reader. It was great. I can see how it would be really useful when traveling. There would be no need to carry a laptop.

My next to items to buy are:
1. an iPhone
2. an iPad

Moving Blog to New Web Host, part 2

Moving my blog to a new webhost looked like it was progressing smoothly yesterday. I thought I had logging into it and updating the information, including a post about moving it. (It turned out I was updating the old site, not the new one.) This morning I went to check it out and got a generic server not found error. I tried to things I thought would make it work, with no luck.

I didn’t know what to try next so I called my web host, HostGator.com They have 24/7 technical support! I’ve even called them before on holidays, and they are open. Their support is excellent. There is no way I would have figured out the problem with the database import. I can barely get through MySQL, but MyPHPAdmin is new to me. I have spent 25 years doing customer support and HelpDesk support so I recognize good support when I get it. I got great support! I really appreciate the fact that they are willing to take the time needed to solve the problem. No matter how busy they are, I’ve never felt that they were rushing to get on to the next call.

I am planning more changes to the site soon. And I’m also planning to update it more frequently. I would love comments and feedback of any kind.

If you are looking for a web host that will be there whenever you need help, do check out host gator. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an experienced website creator, they can help. I love the fact that I can host multiple websites and blogs for no extra fees.

Don’t use TinyURL if you are doing important marketing
