Here is an update on the Spam attack on my blog. I’m now FREE of Spam! What a relief! Thanks to recommendations from Twitter, I’m now using WP-SPAMFREE. It is all I need to block spam. Unlike some of the other plugins I tried, they don’t block valid links. There is very little to configure [...] Since I added the 3 plug ins listed in my last post, no spam is showing up in the comments to be approved section, but over 100 have show up in the spam section. Most have been marked as spam by Cookies for Comments. Other messages have been caught by Aksimet. I think the combination [...] I’ve now setup and configured Akismet, Cookies for Comments and Simple Trackback Validation. These plug-ins should help prevent spam getting through.
